RE: Why no on line reservations for Briarcliffe? (C2C Resort)

We have reserved with them several times. We have been deciding when to go during Christmas break. No problems that we have seen.

RE: Golf carts!?

Well, we don't see anything wrong with riding around on a golf cart. We haven't seen anyone drunk on a golf cart at any of the many campgrounds we have been to. We have explored the state parks in SC and all of them allow golf carts.

RE: Chattanooga to Anderson, SC

I've traveled both ways. Going through Knoxville might be longer, but it always feels less stressful/busy, and it seems more scenic.

RE: How Many nights or weekends............

We camp more during the summer months (DW is a teacher). We were out for 34 nights during the summer. The rest of the year we mostly do weekends with some longer times during holidays. We are out two or three weekends a month. During the winter we store our camper at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach. This allows us to camp most weekends during the winter. BIG difference in gas for TV versus DW's car.

RE: McKesh Mirrors

Yep, we love ours too. Another good thing is that they will work with any TV you have. We have already used ours with two different vehicles.

RE: Wayward kids wandering into campsite

We completely understand where you are coming from. We don't have children with us (ours are grown and gone), and it is very rude. I know we have kids walking through and riding through our campsite very often. It has happened almost every time we have been camping. I just don't get why all campers don't understand the rules of camping etiquette.

RE: Sites in Huntington Beach State Park

We spent one weekend in the backstretch of Huntington. It was super private, but the bugs were terrible. Smoke from the fire or bug spray didn't help much. We would go back to those sites if we had to, but would prefer the front sites due to the bug situation.

RE: Myrtle Beach State Park

No pool, great beach. I can't remember seeing a playground. It is a very close campground. Not much there for kids to do. but like I said the beach is wonderful!

RE: Jayco Eagle owners

Although we don't have the model you are looking at, we love our Eagle. We have a 278FBS which is fine for the two of us. We have not had any major problems, the little ones we did have were handled by Jayco. This is our second Jayco and when we trade, we will most likely purchase another. Good luck!

RE: 2009 Myrtle Beach

Ocean Lakes gets our vote too. We were at Lakewood once and did not like it. We were away from the ocean and were in a block of terrible tiny sites. If you aren't requiring sewer, Huntington Beach State Park is a great place. Some sites are more private not directly on the ocean, but most sites were pretty decent. We just gave up a front row at Ocean Lakes 4th of July next year for a site at Huntington Beach SP. That is how much we liked HBST.
Definitely need to get your reservations now.

RE: Jayco makes a "quality trailer"?

There are always some vehicles (cars or motorhomes or whatever) that are poorly put together. Jayco is a quality vehicle as you can see from the many posts on RV.net. Don't be hard on your kids. They were trying to stand on their own two feet. It sounds like Jayco is standing behind their product. Isn't that the most important thing?

RE: Anybody stayed at this either of these in Chattanooga TN?

We also stayed at Trav l Park. It was early spring so we didn't use anything but the laundry, but it was a nice enough place.

It is cute, but I'd rather have the indoor kitchen and lots more space for that price!

RE: Myrtle Beach-Carolina Opry vs. Alabama Theatre-which one?

We also prefer Alabama theatre to Carolina Opry. Alabama is a little faster paced. Legends is also a super show. If you like comedy shows, the Comedy Cabana is a nice show too.

RE: Looked at the Chevy 2500HD Tonight

Now is definitely the time to buy TV's and SUV's. They are giving rebates like crazy with little to no finance charges. We love our 2500HD.
